As a student in our program, you will develop an understanding of the governmental, social, and economic environment of public service and health care administration at the national, state, and local levels.

A bachelor's degree in public administration prepares you for a career in government, nonprofit agencies, and trade and professional research foundations.

Degree Requirements

  1. English Composition: ENG 101 and ENG 102 — six credits
  2. English Literature: ENG 231 or ENG 232 — three credits
  3. Constitutions — three to six credits
  4. Mathematics — three credits
  5. Distribution requirement (Social Science)
    Humanities and Fine Arts — nine credits
    Life and Physical Sciences and Analytical Thinking — nine to 10 credits
    PHIL 102 and two courses from life and physical sciences category (one must be a lab course)
  6. Multicultural (see Note 1 in Undergraduate Course Catalog)
    International (see Note 1 in Undergraduate Course Catalog)

PUA Core Requirements (36 credits total)
Thirty-six credit hours must be taken. Among the courses offered are:

Note: Every student must complete a three-credit multicultural course and a three-credit international course. Courses satisfying other requirements may simultaneously satisfy the multicultural and international requirements.
